The hackathon will take place from August 10 to 18, 2023, and will challenge teams of women to develop innovative FinTech solutions. The summit will take place on August 19, 2023, and will feature speakers from the Financial Tech industry, as well as networking opportunities for participants. The incubator will run from September 4 to December 8, 2023, and will provide selected teams with mentorship, funding, and other resources to help them launch their Financial Technology businesses.

“We are excited to announce the fourth edition of our Women in FinTech initiative,” said Innocent Kawooya, CEO of HiPipo. “This initiative is a critical part of our mission to empower women in Africa and close the gender gap in the Financial Tech industry. We are proud to have seen so many success stories from our past participants, and we are confident that this year’s initiative will be even more successful.”

The Women in FinTech initiative is open to women-led teams of 2 to 4 members, with each team having at least 67 percent female composition. To participate, teams must complete an online application form. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2023.

“We encourage all interested women to apply for the Women in FinTech initiative,” said Charlotte Neeza, FinTech Events Manager at HiPipo. “This is a great opportunity to learn from experts in the Financial Tech industry, network with other women in the field, and develop your skills and knowledge. We look forward to seeing what our participants create.” For more information about the Women in FinTech initiative, please visit the HiPipo website.
