Talkio Mobile partners with Banana to expand its retail footprint

Officially operating since August 2024, Talkio Mobile has positioned itself as a key, game-changer, Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). This means it will lease network capacity from established operators, allowing it to offer competitive pricing without the heavy burden of maintaining its own infrastructure.

With promises of innovative services including voice, data, SMS, and mobile money, Talkio Mobile is poised to disrupt the status quo in Uganda’s telecom sector.

Banana Life Investments, its new partner, comes with its extensive network of 26 retail locations across major malls and towns in Uganda, to serve as a vital distribution partner. This strategic alliance not only enhances Talkio’s visibility but also brings its services closer to the everyday Ugandan.

Customers can now purchase SIM cards, recharge airtime, and access customer support all under one roof.

    Bridging the digital divide

The partnership is more than just a business arrangement; it reflects a shared commitment to transforming lives through technology.

Vianne Allan Ahura, CEO of Talkio Mobile, emphasized this vision: “By leveraging Banana Life Investments’ trusted presence and nationwide footprint, we are not only expanding our agent network but also bringing our services closer to the communities we serve.”

This initiative aims to empower Ugandans by providing them with the tools they need to stay connected and grow their businesses.

Solomon Semuyaba, on behalf of Banana Life Investments, echoed this sentiment by stating that their collaboration is about fostering a connected future for Uganda. “Together, we are redefining what convenience and accessibility mean for our customers,” he added.

This partnership is set to introduce joint initiatives focused on value addition and digital inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital transformation.

What Talkio Mobile customers can expect

As part of this collaboration, customers can look forward to several key offerings.

SIM Card sales will now be available at all Banana Life Investments locations countrywide. Customers can as well book their preferred Talkio number in-store. There will also be easy Airtime recharges through in-store purchases along with friendly staff trained to assist with Talkio Mobile products and services.

This comprehensive approach ensures that even those in remote areas have access to reliable communication solutions. The companies plan to roll out promotional campaigns and expand their services further, reinforcing their commitment to inclusivity.
