This alliance is aimed at ramping up smartphone penetration across Uganda, making the dream of owning a smartphone a reality for many.

EASYBUY (Dexinte Finance Limited), which spread its wings in Uganda in July 2023, has been on a noble mission to alleviate the upfront financial burden often associated with acquiring a smartphone. Now, with this partnership, EASYBUY services will be extended across various Airtel Uganda outlets including Kingdom Kampala, Acacia, Ntinda, and many more.

The offer stands valid on Itel, Tecno, and Infinix smartphones. The process is simple—customers are required to pay an initial 30% of the total phone price, with the rest of the balance spread out over a comfortable 12-month period.

The drive behind this initiative is rooted in the growth of internet subscriptions as reported by the UCC 3Q Market Performance Report FY 2022/2023. With a surge of 1.2 million new internet subscriptions, reaching a total of 27 million, the demand for smartphones is at an all-time high.

This partnership between Airtel Uganda and EASYBUY is more than just a business alliance; it’s a step towards fostering digital inclusion, empowering Ugandans to connect, learn, and prosper in the digital world.

What They Said

Carol Asio, the Head of Retail at Airtel Uganda, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “With the launch of this innovative partnership between Airtel Uganda and EASYBUY, we are setting in motion a product that will make smartphone ownership more accessible than ever. This partnership means we are not just a telecommunications company, but a force dedicated to breaking down the barriers that limit the opportunities for Ugandans to connect, learn, and thrive in the digital age.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Oscar Talon Mbabazi, the Business Director at EASYBUY, remarked, “We are thrilled to join hands with Airtel Uganda, a leader in the telecommunications industry, to expand the reach of our services and make high-quality smartphones available to even more Ugandans.”
