ORI Rides is more than just a ride-sharing app in Uganda

    -

Introducing a new ride-sharing service in Uganda is nowadays more than just adopting the Uber model. ORI rides is introducing a transport app that understands the ever-changing needs of Ugandans. The company is entering this sector and it believes that with the absence of a private vehicle, they would provide an alternative that feels more of the same.

With the ORI Rides App, you can conveniently order for a cab to pick you from anywhere within Kampala and drop you anywhere within, around, or even outside Kampala.

Passengers can order for a ride to pick and deliver certain things from one place to another without taking the trouble to go there physically. Their riders (internally known as captains) will liaise with the passegers people on the other end and the job will finely be executed.

The company extends its services further like hailing an ambulance on your phone. An ambulance is like an insurance service, you never know when you will need one. It could be your ailing relative, pregnant woman, or anyone connected to you. ORI Rides gives you an opportunity to scan through a series of available ambulances and call one whenever the need arises.

In case you signed up using Facebook, Facebook will ask the Ori Rides passenger to verify whether it’s them logging in, then go ahead and confirm.

Ori Rides will use this same email to receive invoice emails, receipts, and additional communication.

The company’s pricing modal seems to be embedded with in the app its self and not transparently communicated like other ride sharing apps. Some would say that this is a red-flag when it comes to how much they would spend on their services.
